24i, the video streaming platform expert, today announced that it has successfully deployed the OneTrust consent management platform (CMP) featuring its OTT and CTV consent solution for a customer’s FAST channel line-up, powered by 24i. Leveraging OneTrust’s direct APIs and SDKs helped 24i rapidly implement the CMP to manage preferences for both households and individuals to allow for granular user controls and richer advertising data for a more personalized experience.
A critical element of ad-funded ecosystems is privacy control. With OneTrust’s CMP, rather than a binary yes or no option when accessing FAST channels, viewers can agree to or reject the terms and conditions, as well as the information they wish to share with advertisers. This mirrors today’s experience on privacy-compliant websites. OneTrust’s solutions also help companies stay compliant with GDPR, CCPA, plus hundreds of other regulations, as well as frameworks from the IAB and DAA.
Combining privacy control with the best CPM and highest revenue requires some level of ad targeting. This means there is a requirement to share some user data with the FAST channel content owner and their technology supplier, and this requires consumers to give their consent. This process is more complicated than a simple, one-off yes or no event because ad inventory can come from many vendors.
